Using the theme of ‘Golden Hour,’ I PRODUCED a three-day shoot at a home in Los Angeles for Fortune Brands Innovations, the parent company of over 19 brands. For this project, the goal was to showcase six of their brands within a single home, using minimal to no compositing. The assets produced needed to serve multiple purposes: product photography for brand catalogs, promotional materials for the International Builders Show in Las Vegas, website content, and lifestyle video — all while working within a tight budget.
I sourced a home in Los Angeles that allowed us to feature the brands' products authentically. I replaced the pool surround and all decking with Fiberon Decking, upgraded the doors with Therma-Tru Doors and Emtek hardware, installed Larson Storm Doors, incorporated the existing architectural beams to represent Fypon, and the bi-fold doors from their high-end Veris Collection..
I faced several logistical challenges producing this shoot. The deck had to be demolished and rebuilt within a strict four-day window between another production shoot at the home and the start of our own. Additionally, the home’s front door was a custom size, which meant we couldn’t do a simple 1-to-1 swap with a Therma-Tru entry door. To solve this, I sourced a shop to build a custom door plug that allowed us to install a Therma-Tru door, creating a functional yet temporary false entryway.
